Terms of Service

Last updated: March 20, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the a21e platform, API, CLI tools, IDE extensions, or any related services (collectively, the 'Service'), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Description of Service

a21e is an AI execution platform that provides intent-based task processing, multi-model routing, prompt synthesis, autonomous agents, quality gates, and related capabilities. The Service includes web applications, REST APIs, CLI tools, IDE extensions, and SDKs.

3. Account Registration

You must create an account to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, including API keys. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use. API keys use the 'a21e_' prefix and are stored as SHA-256 hashes — we cannot recover lost keys.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service; (c) interfere with the operation of the Service; (d) reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service; (e) use the Service to generate content that violates applicable laws or third-party rights; (f) exceed rate limits or circumvent usage controls.

5. Credits and Payment

The Service operates on a credit-based system. Credits are consumed based on actual token usage during task execution. Credit balances are non-refundable except as required by law. Bring-your-own-key (BYOK) users provide their own provider API keys and pay reduced platform fees. All pricing is subject to change with 30 days' notice.

6. Intellectual Property

You retain ownership of content you submit to the Service ('Input'). You own the output generated by the Service from your Input ('Output'), subject to any third-party rights in the underlying models. The Service, including its prompt synthesis engine, routing algorithms, quality gate scoring, and agent orchestration, is the intellectual property of a21e. Prompt content and synthesis techniques are never returned to clients.

7. Data Handling

Input and Output are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM and in transit using TLS 1.3. Provider API keys are decrypted only during execution and are never logged. We maintain a full audit trail of executions with user attribution. See our Privacy Policy for details on data collection and processing.

8. Service Availability

We strive to maintain high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, updates, or due to circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss resulting from Service unavailability.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, a21e shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly. Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections on intellectual property, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the email associated with your account at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware.
